Aim High

Welcome

Welcome to the Castle Primary School website.

At Castle we work tirelessly to encourage our children to ‘Aim High’ to be successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. Our school values of determination, courage, equality, inspiration, excellence, friendship and respect underpin our ethos.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum designed to foster a love of learning and provide a wealth of exciting opportunities that really motivate our children to do their best!

Children achieve well at Castle and by the end of Year 6 when they depart for secondary school are prepared well for the next stage in their education.  We are relentless in ensuring that children achieve their potential in all aspects of the Early Year Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum. We also offer numerous experiences beyond the classroom via an enviable range of extra-curricular activities that include gardening, choir and music to name just a few as well as a wide range of sporting opportunities including cross-country, football, netball and cricket. We enjoy great success in sport with our teams regularly competing at district and county finals competitions. We are delighted to have been awarded the prestigious School Games Platinum Mark Award for our contribution to sport in 2022/2023.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and Castle is delighted to have been recognised for its success.

Every year, schools can apply to be considered for bronze/silver/gold/platinum award marks from School Games.  The adjudicators judge schools against stringent criteria in the areas of sport, participation, competition, staff and clubs. Only a handful of schools are judged to be worthy of the platinum award. This was one of the factors which contributed to Ofsted grading the school as 'Outstanding' for Personal development in our inspection in March 2024.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for.
