  • Eden 2019

    Thu 14 Nov 2019

The children have had an amazing first evening at Eden. 5LB had a fantastic time exploring the Biomes at night while 5KB learnt all about the colours of different flags before designing and painting their own.

The children have slept well and are just getting ready for breakfast. Today the children will be exploring the rainforest and finding out what it can provide for them, such as building materials, medicines and food. They will then also spend time exploring the site looking for other shelters and then use this information to design and make their own using materials provided.

    Wed 17 Jul 2019

What an exciting morning we have had!

We were very lucky and privileged enough to have a helicopter, from the Defence Helicopter Flying School, take off and land on our school field. All of the children were able to go and visit the helicopter and ask questions of the two pilots.

Thank you very much to our school governor Mr Ian Ryan for helping to organise this amazing opportunity for the children of Castle Primary School.

  • Re-arranged Sports Day

    Thu 11 Jul 2019
Sports Day has now been re-arranged and will be held in the afternoon of Wednesday 17th July, from approx. 13:10.
  • Sports day - POSTPONED

    Mon 24 Jun 2019

We want children to enjoy sports day! For this to happen we need to make sure that conditions are dry underfoot and safe.

However, the weather forecast is for heavy rain through the night and into Tuesday morning. A weather warning has also been issued for Tuesday: ”Thunderstorms are likely, these potentially severe, bringing a risk of flooding...”

With this in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow’s sports day. We are doing this today to enable those parents who may have taken time off work to make alternative arrangements. This is in response to parent feedback in the past. We will endeavour to organise a new date as soon as possible.

We appreciate that this may cause disappointment, and that the weather may change overnight, but we hope you will appreciate that the well—being of the children is our priority.
