Home Learning for Weeks Beginning 12-7-21 and 19-7-21

We have put together a few activities to keep you busy for your home learning.

As we think about our transition to Year 1, we would like you to create a 'Passport for Y1' to tell your Year 1 teachers about you.

If you have any difficulty printing the passport , we have left some in the school office for you to collect.

We look forward to seeing you all again to celebrate the end of term.

Best wishes the Year R team.

Home Learning for the week beginning 22-2-21

Welcome back Everyone!

We hope you had a super half term and feel a little rested.

This half term we will look a little closer at why we celebrate Shrove Tuesday/Pancake day, getting involved with world book week and investigating the new life that is emerging as Spring arrives and we get closer to Easter.

We are very much hoping that all the children will be back in school sometime this half term as I am sure you are, however, until that point we will continue to post Home Learning each friday on the school website.

Do please contact us if you have any concerns or any questions regarding the home learning or your children.

Please keep posting your home learning on Tapestry with no more that one post a day but at the least one a week.

Thank you for your on going hard work and lets hope we are all back to together again soon.

Useful websites for home learning

The Phonics Play website supports key learning in Phonics , reading and spelling.

Free access is currently available using the following details:-

Want to try something a little bit different. Have a go at a yoga session designed specifically for children.

Tricky words

Tricky words are the words that you can not 'sound out' in English. These words need to be memorised as a whole word.

The children will bring home tricky word Bingo games in a zippy wallet in their book bags. Please follow the instructions provided inside the zippy wallet. We encourage you to practise these regularly at home to support your child's progress.

Please find below some extra sets of  the Bingo words and games you can play to support your child's recall of the tricky words.

Reading material

You can register with Oxford Owl for free to access books for your child. Select your child's age and book band. We suggest you try the Pink book band to start with.
Phonics Play comics allow you to select specific sounds you would like your child to practise reading in a fun context.
